Whirlwind Summer

(Phil and I visited a friend in Cleveland and
stopped at my Grandma and Grandpa Grahams
on the way)

So I vowed that Phil would have to write the next blog... but as you can see I lost that battle as I am writing this right now:)

Not a whole lot is new for us. We continue to make updates to our house... but as I'm sure many of you have learned... you eventually reach a "stopping point". The "stopping point" does not

necessarily mean that you are done with projects, it simply means that the fact that 5 of your doors still have holes in it from the previous owner (foreclosed homes come with a lot of holes:) no

longer bother you. It's a miracle really, things that used to drive you nuts seem to disappear!!

Some projects that we have gotten too this year are our walkway which looks GREAT! Phil's Dad graciously agreed to work on it one day with him and it was finished in one day. We started closing our garage when company comes over just so that they are FORCED to use our new walkway. We have also painted our front door red, replaced a window, and bought a few items that we plan on installing in the next month (storm door, garage window, garage door to get to the back yard). We are still really enjoying owning a home and feel so blessed to have our house.

Phil's event season came to an end in August. He is enjoying his slower season, and helped out with the Black Swamp Arts Festival in Bowling Green in Sept. He helped on their development committee and enjoyed learning more about the development field. I also volunteered at the festival as the "pizza runner" which basically means I got to run pizzas back and forth from Pagliais to the festival on a Gator. Very FUN!!

My job is going very well at the Christian Academy, I really enjoy it and am learning new things all the time. Something fun about my job is I get to help write the script for a commercial that will be running on one of our local channels promoting the school. Thankfully I do not have to be in the commercial!

Because my job at the school is part-time, I am also enjoying doing some photography on the side. My gracious brother in law Rob is going to build a website for me which will eventually be www.suzylynnphotography.com . Right now it's just a construction page, but eventually I will use it as a sort of online portfolio. I created my own logo got a few opinions and am happy with how the one I chose turned out. I'm also on facebook so look me up;) ("suzy lynn photography")

In August we celebrated my sister Liz and Rob's wedding. Their wedding was beautiful and we really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Orange was the color of their wedding which made my dad very happy. Let's just say he spray painted his hair orange once for a marathon and called himself "orange man" that's how much he loves orange.

All in all the summer has gone by fast but has been filled with visiting friends and family.

Hope all is well with you guys!
Suzy and Phil

Summer Begins

Hi Everyone,

Well the month of May brought a few changes for Phil and I. We are still really enjoying our house and all the work that comes with it. Mowing, planting, watering, fertilizing, and more mowing. We also put in a sidewalk, made of cement pavers. Phil's dad Dave was so nice to come over and help Phil put it in. It looks GREAT. I made sure to disappear for the day when they were putting in the walk:) We have also put a bunch of perennials in the garden, all of which were gifts from my family for my birthday. Phil threw me a birthday party at our house and man I have never received so many plants for my birthday. But I LOVED it, my family must have really noticed our empty flower beds.

Other than being busy with our house, I have also started a new job at BG Christian Academy as the Marketing and Admissions Director. I really enjoy it! I love the variety that the job offers, one minute I'm talking to a parent and the next I'm working with a designer for our billboard art.

Phil is getting into his busy festival season. He just finished Boogie on Main which is basically a block party, and it was a huge success compared to the year prior. Right now he is working up to his next project, the Wine Festival on June 27. This is the first year they have ever done a wine festival so it has come with it's share of stress on Phil.

The last big event that happened for us was Phil's gift he got me for my birthday. A COLDPLAY concert (I included a pic to the right)!!! He bought an extra ticket from my friend Kelly Day and we went together. The concert was in Indianapolis and Kelly lives in Muncie, so I was able to stay the night at her apt after the concert. It was an awesome concert. Probably the funniest part of the concert was how into the show people got... they sort of looked like they could have been in a church service the way they were raising their hands:)

All in all Phil and I are doing really well and we are truly enjoying the changes that God has set before us.

In Gratitude,

Suzy and Phil

Three Weddings and Baby!

Well I've finally decided to blog, partly because there are just so many wonderful people in our life that we want to keep up with, and partly because I admire how blogging start's a history book for your families life. Our friends the Suels are a great example of that.

To the news... as many of you witnessed my sister Margaret and Matt's wedding on July 14th, 2008, our (Phil and Suzy's) wedding on February 14th 2009 and as of May 6th 2009, my sister Liz and her boyfriend Rob, got engaged! Very exciting!!! Not to mention my sister Margaret and her husband had their first child. Graham Tyler Malanga entered the world on April 28th, 2009. Early April Phil's brother Justin and his wife Rene had their second child Lydia Margaret, and baby sister Evie has adjusted very well. She says "BABY!" and kisses her on the head.

It has been a very busy year for my family. Phil and I also closed on a house the Wednesday after we got back from our honeymoon. We completely replaced anything one might consider costmetic, and made the house our own. We have also had a very hairy addition to our family, my dog Dillon. Phil and Dillon have really bonded, thank goodness and have an afterwork ritual of going "pee pee" and then playing with his only toy.. a squeaky soccer ball.

All in all Phil and I are truly enjoying our first few months of marriage and all the life events happening all around us.

In Gratitude for all God has provided,

Suzy and Phil
